2. Description of Service
ChirpList provides mailing list and visitor analytics tools for Second Life businesses and creators. The Service includes:
Subscriber management and messaging
Tip jar with visitor tracking
Analytics and conversion tracking
Event tracking and engagement metrics
3. Your Responsibilities as a ChirpList User
IMPORTANT: You, the end user, are solely responsible for how you use ChirpList and its features. ChirpList provides tools; you are responsible for using them ethically, legally, and in compliance with all applicable terms of service and laws.
3.1 Lawful Use
You agree to use ChirpList only for lawful purposes and in compliance with:

All applicable laws and regulations
You acknowledge that ChirpList is not responsible for your use of the platform. Any violations of Linden Lab TOS, community standards, or laws are your sole responsibility.
3.2 Prohibited Uses
You may NOT use ChirpList to:
Harass, stalk, or threaten other Second Life users
Share, sell, or distribute visitor data to third parties
Track users across multiple unrelated venues for surveillance purposes
Spam users who have not opted into your mailing list
Violate Linden Lab's Terms of Service or Community Standards
Engage in any illegal activity
Violation of these prohibitions will result in immediate account termination.
3.3 Data Collection Responsibilities
When using ChirpList's visitor tracking features, you agree to:
Use visitor data only for your own legitimate business analytics
Not share visitor data with third parties without explicit consent
Respect user privacy and data protection principles
Delete visitor data upon request
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of visitor tracking complies with Linden Lab's Terms of Service and all applicable privacy laws.
3.4 Mailing List Compliance
When using ChirpList's messaging features, you agree to:
Only message users who have explicitly opted into your list
Provide a clear unsubscribe mechanism in all messages
Honor unsubscribe requests promptly
Not send spam or unsolicited messages
4. Visitor Tracking Disclosure
ChirpList's tip jar includes visitor tracking via Second Life's standard sensor functions. This is similar to analytics used by websites worldwide.
What is Tracked:
Avatar UUID and display name (public information)
Visit timestamps
Region/location name
Subscriber and tipper status (for conversion analytics)
What is NOT Tracked:
Private messages or chat logs
Inventory or personal data
Activity outside your venue
Real-world identity information
5. Data Retention and Privacy
5.1 Your Data
ChirpList stores your subscriber lists, messages, and visitor analytics
You own your data and can export it at any time
We will not share your data with third parties without your consent
5.2 Visitor Data
Visitor tracking data is stored for analytics purposes
You are responsible for how you use this data
We recommend implementing data retention limits (e.g., 90-180 days)
Visitors can request data deletion by contacting you or ChirpList support
5.3 Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data
However, no system is 100% secure
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
6. Acceptable Content
You may not use ChirpList to send:
Spam or unsolicited messages
Harassing, threatening, or abusive content
Content that violates Linden Lab's Community Standards
Illegal content or content promoting illegal activity
Malware, viruses, or malicious code
7. Account Termination and Enforcement
We will terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, Linden Lab's Terms of Service, or engage in prohibited activities.
